Description
The Hans J. Wegner CH446 Reproduction Footstool brings the understated character of Danish modern design into a refined, showroom-ready furniture piece. Created as a reproduction of the CH446 Footstool, it reflects the compact proportions, sculptural form and restrained detailing associated with Hans J. Wegner’s work.
Designed as the companion footstool to the Hans J. Wegner CH445 Wing Chair, it provides a comfortable place to rest the feet while extending the chair’s relaxed seating experience. Its curved upholstered form and compact scale also allow it to work independently as a low accent piece within living rooms, reading corners, offices, retail spaces and boutique hospitality interiors.
This reproduction offers an accessible way to introduce a recognised design reference into a contemporary interior without sourcing an original vintage piece.
Please note: this listing is for the CH446 Footstool only. The matching Hans J. Wegner CH445 Wing Chair is sold separately where available.
Design Notes
Hans J. Wegner is one of the defining figures of Danish modern furniture, known for balancing craftsmanship, comfort and sculptural restraint. His work often feels honest, warm and quietly expressive.
The CH446 Footstool was designed as the natural companion to the CH445 Wing Chair. Its height, proportions and softly upholstered form are intended to support the legs and create a more relaxed lounge position when the two pieces are paired together.
Although designed to complement the CH445 Wing Chair, the footstool can also be styled independently as a compact footrest or low upholstered accent within a considered interior.

Upholstery Guide
Many of our pieces are available in a range of upholstery options, from practical everyday finishes to more premium leather and wool selections. Available options vary by product. Each material has a different look, feel and price point, so the right choice depends on how you want the piece to sit within your space.
PU Leather
A smooth, easy-care synthetic leather option with a clean finish. PU Leather is a practical entry-level choice for customers who want the look of leather without moving into premium leather pricing.
Cashmere
A soft woven fabric with a warm, tactile finish. Cashmere is a good choice for a softer, more relaxed look and works especially well on lounge chairs, sofas and sculptural upholstered pieces.
Microfibre Leather
A durable synthetic leather with a refined surface feel. Microfibre Leather offers a more elevated finish than standard PU Leather, with good everyday practicality and a clean, modern appearance.
Textured Danish Wool
A woven wool-style upholstery with visible texture and depth. This option gives the piece a more design-led, mid-century feel and works well when you want the upholstery to add character rather than sit flat.
Cashmere Danish Wool
A softer wool-style option with a more refined hand feel. Cashmere Danish Wool offers warmth, texture and a slightly more elevated finish, making it a strong choice for statement chairs and sofas.
Italian Corrected Leather
A genuine leather option with a more consistent, treated surface. Corrected leather is designed to offer a cleaner and more uniform appearance while still giving the piece the feel and presence of real leather.
Italian Aniline Leather
A premium genuine leather option with a softer, more natural finish. Aniline leather is known for its depth, character and natural variation, making each piece feel more individual. It is best suited to customers who appreciate a more authentic leather look and are comfortable with natural markings and patina over time.
Premium Waxed Leather
A rich, characterful leather finish with a waxed surface effect. Premium Waxed Leather has a more lived-in, tactile quality and may develop natural variation with use, making it ideal for customers who want a warmer, more vintage-inspired finish.
Please note that colours and textures may vary slightly between screens, production batches and lighting conditions. Swatches are intended as a guide only.
